Building Information Modelling (BIM) is one of the most promising developments in the Construction industry. For a long time, communication concerning design has been restricted because of the single interface methods based on 2D plans and drawings. With the introduction of BIM and Mixed Reality (MR), information can be visualized, offering countless opportunities for improving project coordination, productivity and safety.

To better utilize the BIM models, we need to move it from the screen to the real construction site, allowing the user to engage and interact with the design data more intuitively. MR is the best solution to bridge the gap between the virtual and physical world. It is capable of overlaying synthetic content on the real working environment which can be anchored to and allows interaction with the physical site.

By enabling on-site viewing of BIM content, the site personnel can detect onsite miscoordination issues more effectively. The project teams can preview the work process for safety measures planning. Furthermore, it can make visible the utilities hidden behind the wall or underground, assisting project teams to assess potential risks and prevent accidents.
